Travelling by Train, Tram and Tuk Tuk
What a day starting with a train journey from Cascais to Lisbon. A glass of iced tea was very welcome before we started walking in search of the illusive No 28 tram which would take up to Lisbon's ancient fortress, Castelo de Sao Jorge. We eventually found the tram stop and waited along with many others for the old wooden tram which eventually came rattling along the cobbled street. What an exciting ride, a bit like a roller coaster. We made it! It was quite a climb up to the castle but the effort was well worth it.
We decided to take a different form of transport back to the station so we hired a Tuk Tuk for an hour's tour finishing up at the train. It was wonderful to be taken round some of Lisbon's famous sights in this funny wee motor. Our driver, Paulo, was terrific stopping at places for quick photos. This is the view looking down through the Eduardo V11 Garden towards the sea.
