Winston

This very eccentric staircase is a feature of the beautiful Hartwell House hotel near Aylesbury. Yesterday I blipped it from another angle by night, after arriving there in time for dinner. Here it is by morning light, and the extra is the little carved tribute to Winston Churchill that guests love to seek out on one of the spindles.

As I was in her county, I took a diversion to meet up with Annie of AnnieandChris, and her warm welcome was much appreciated.
