$8 moment

Today at the grocery store I stood in line wondering what was taking so long with the lady in front of me. She couldn't find her card but her oldest son was in the store and she was trying to get him on the phone so he could pay for. Feeling overwhelmed she left her 2-3 items and said she would be right back.

I told the cashier I should pay for her items. It only came to $8. As she returned, minutes later she told the cashier she couldn't find her son. The cashier beamed, and while pointing at me stated that I had taken care of it.

The lady seemed happy, although still overwhelmed and slightly embarrassed but I hope I brightened her day.

Tonight after dinner we enjoyed lemon sorbet and buttery thin cookies and I can't help but feel content. 2 more days till the weekend. I'm so ready.
