With rain forecast I was out early but just through the park and back via the shops …….. not that there were many open at that time. The chain is on the gates of the recreation ground. 

The roofer got 1½ hours work done before the rain came, then continued for another 1½ before finishing the back tiles.  We agreed that it was best to pack up and come back on Monday. The rainwater from the roof is now flowing into our own downpipes which the builder has fitted and connected to the main drain.  This means that our gutters should no longer overflow when those downhill can’t hold all the water or are blocked. 

Not enough natural light for painting today so I’ve been busy removing coving and stripping wallpaper. A good days work for which I was rewarded with a cream doughnut. A bottle of wine would have been nice too.
