Shake it all up!

The rain must have done the garden a world of good, no watering tonight either!

When it had stopped raining I went into the garden for a blip. I was watching a group of sparrows in the tree when I spotted this chick pecking around in the border below. It must have recently fledged as it had the yellow gape and not all of it's feathers were through. Every time it ate something it shook and flapped as chicks do - so sweet to watch! It was also very wet from the rain.

As I was watching it one of next-door's cats jumped on my wall, saw me and jumped back (we have history that involves a water pistol).  
I think it's likely that the chick had a lucky escape.
