Sculpture?
We visited the Hauser and Wirth gallery, restaurant and garden near Bruton, Somerset, with a group of friends for lunch today. This sculpture was the first thing we saw as we arrived!! It is made up of new pots and pans, and is huge!
The current exhibition was a cross between Jackson Pollock and pre-school junk modelling (maybe I just didn't get it), but beautifully displayed!
After a quick look round, it was time for lunch - which was excellent in every way. Later on, we wandered around the extensive gardens (JF sat in the shade under a veranda, as it was hot by this stage). Two extra photos will give some idea of the gardens - designed on the "prairie" style. You can see one of our party under a large parasol! At the top of the garden there was a building which looked like an alien spaceship - E.T. came to mind!
It was a great day out!
