The historic New Inn at Gloucester
It was whilst staying at the New Inn that Lady Jane Grey was declared the de facto monarch of England in July 1553.
She remained queen for just nine days before she being removed and subsequently beheaded in 1554 by the order of 'bloody' Queen Mary 1st the eldest daughter of Henry the Eighth.
