Is it Really 10 Years...

. . . . since we all suffered the loss of my dear old dad? Today, we stood at the grave of this lovely, gentle and patient man and remembered what he meant to us all, and what we meant to him.

Since that awful day 10 years ago, which is still so clear in my mind, there have been good times and not so good times for me and my family. I don't believe that anyone of my age has gone through their life untouched by sadness. It's just a fact of life. The older you get though, as you live through and experience any type of hardship and pain, it can have the effect of making you more compassionate to others who go through what you did, and hopefully your widsom of how you got through it can then help them in their time of need.

Thankfully the good times far outweigh the bad. Family times are just so important, and there have been so much fun and laughter, enjoyed by this family over the years since Dad died, and I'm sure there will be more of the same in the future.

I suppose the three biggest events that he missed, that would have made him proud, was our wedding day in 2006 and the birth of his two great-grandchildren - Cameron in 2005 and Ben in 2010.

Dad, you are gone, but you are not forgotten, by all of us.

Afterwards, we all went to Gloagburn Farm for lunch, here is Ben trying to get in with the pigs
