Ponta Delgada

We're flying home this afternoon after a brilliant and very busy week.

There was still time to explore Ponta Delgada, the largest town and capital of the Azores. It isn't immediately breath-taking, but everyone is so relaxed, friendly and welcoming that you can't help being charmed.

My Madeiran friends said I'd love the Azores. They were right. There is something very special about these Atlantic islands.
