A ride into history

We left awful weather in Cumbria and made an uneventful return to St Gervais earlier today. Even the 40minute delay on take off simply meant we effectively walked straight onto our transfer to La Fayet. With a few minutes to spare we sat by the fountain for a while and with Mrs IttH engrossed in a new book I ambled off to watch Jeanne the burgundy tram begin her journey up to the Nid d'Aigle, something we plan to do in the next couple of weeks before hiking up to Tête Rousse Hut.
Fortunately the heavy grey skies are forecast to disappear over the next couple of days, so an evening of eating,  wine & guidebooks is called for.
