Heleniums
A lazy morning for us – well for me at least. I could have slept longer, but the noise from the building site woke me up. BB and I lounged about in our pjs watching the Olympics, while TT went for a run. It was nice to have nothing to race around and get ready for. One of BB’s friends (L) came round later in the morning and stayed for a while – they flitted between so many things, but ended up hooked up to technology. After lunch we three plus L, cycled in between the showers to Amisfield walled garden, as it was having an open day. The volunteers have been so busy over the past couple of years since we last visited. There is so much to see, in what is a huge walled garden.
As soon as we got there, the boys spotted cricket stuff and they played with TT for quite a while I wandered. They moved onto football next, and TT and I then wandered some more. We then met up with L’s parents and sister, who had just arrived, and we enjoyed excellent tea and cakes, while the boys moved on again to badminton!
The cycle home was very damp. We left BB at L’s house and we came home, dried off and then spent some quality time together doing a supermarket shop. We got a tired BB home, after his busy day.
A quiet evening ahead.
Here is a shot of some of the lovely heleniums in the herbaceous border at Amisfield. The extra is of the cricketers.
