Tree Felling, and other games

The visitors wanted to chop down a tree. We had seven big dead trees nearby which our neighbour had given us permission to chop down. So off we went and now there are only five dead trees still standing and we have a pile of firewood for the winter.
I realise there is a serious lack of safety equipment here but strict instructions plus familiarity with dangerous tools had to do.
Later in the day we were kayaking and the day finished with cards. This a real tradition in my family, taught me by my grandparents as soon as I was old enough to count, and both my sisters and their children love a noisy game of cards.
