Monserrate Palace

Took the bus to Sintra early this morning. The town is a World Heritage site. There are so many wonderful buildings to visit but we opted just to visit one today ..... our choice was the magnificent Park and Palace of Monserrate.

The rather informal gardens were shady and brought welcome relief from the burning sun. The wonderful red water lily was flowering in one of the ornamental lakes.
