Bottlenose dolphins
Set out to Chanonry point today, ignoring the paperwork I had planned to do today. It started off a rainy day but as I am leaving Scotland for a few weeks I didn't want to waste my time indoors.
By the time I got to Inverness it was a glorious sunny and clear day. I got to Chanonry point just in time for the last bit of incoming tide when the dolphins come to hunt - and was rewarded with being able to watch them for about half an hour. Not the best photo of the day but the most rewarding, that is what I was hoping for when I set off.
I stopped at the Spay estuary where I think the salmon are migrating, I and saw lots of splashes and the goosanders busy fishing. There was over a hundred of them and I watched them for a long time while they were grooming themselves on the spit. The extra shows two of them in flight.
So tomorrow I have to get up at 6 to do this damn paperwork....
