A respite from the heat
As predicted, we reached record high temperatures today, and I was very grateful for the motel room I had booked. Nothing fancy, but with a working (and surprisingly quiet) air conditioner. I decided that I would treat this as a mini-vacation, so I took myself out for dinner to a seafood restaurant on the waterfront in Edmonds, the town just north of Seattle where I lived for 17 years before moving south. Dinner was lovely and relaxing (see extra photo for a view of the restaurant) and when I left I took some pictures of the flower plantings around the marina. Just a few, because I could hardly wait to get back to my air-conditioned car.
