'Messing about on the River'

The first day of our short break in Hampshire has been lovely. We went to the River Hamble...spent the morning pottering then this afternoon, we caught the pink ferry over the river to Warsash. We then walked for at least six miles, there and back...we would have liked to walk further, but the ferry stopped running at six.....good weather most of the day, though it was raining by the end of the afternoon.

We had lunch at The Beach Hut..right on the edge of the river.

By the way...the Pink Ladies...the two water ferries are thought to date back to the 1500's.....a lot of fascinating history on Google.

Off to Salisbury tomorrow..we think!
