Random Topiary, Portland

Our friend told us that this monumental creation started as a way to alert people to a suport wire that came down from the pole at a dangerous angle close to the sidewalk. Over the years it has taken on a life of its own til even the pole is obscured and most people have forgotten the story.

This afternoon we head on to Tacoma for the 4th Annual West Coast Sketchers Crawl and a weekend of drawing immersion.
