Super Day

My friend and I had great fun attending a cooking class in a gorgeous lodge in Tutka Bay,  across Kachemak Bay from Homer, which is about 80 miles from us at the end of the Kenai Peninsula. Her trip was a Christmas present from her daughter, and mine was a birthday present from her! 
In this photo we are making ramen noodles (friend on left, me center, teacher on right). The main dish was ramen noodles with sauteed vegetables, wild mushrooms (they knew what to pick!) and salmon. We also had rice cakes topped with scallops, panna cotta, and wine.
During the boat ride to the lodge we saw orcas (killer whales) and sea otters. On the way home we spotted the tail of a humpback whale as it dived for the depths.
