Our first ever game. Probably.
Love this photo.
This season my club ‘West Ham United’ moved to ‘The Olympic Stadium’ which had previously hosted the 2012 Olympics.
Our crowds have increased from 35,000 to 57,000 resulting in a lot more people being able to purchase season tickets.
We have also priced our tickets very well with all under 16 year olds being charged just £99 for a Season Ticket.
This has, of course, led to a lot more ‘families’ coming to games. Not only do we have a bigger capacity but our ground is very well located for public transport and is a lot less intimidating than our old place that was stuck in the middle of a council estate in a very poor area.
Today was our first League game in our new home.
This photo I imagine is Dad taking a photo of his wife and children who are thrilled to be at their first ever football game in a big shiny new stadium.
Dad has kitted everyone out in the new shirts and they are having their photo done with the pitch behind them.
It was one of many similar scenes being played out in the stand around me.
Everyone went home happy too – We won 1-0.
