A quiet corner of green...
Dear Diary,
Finally, some rain last night! Everything seems fresh and renewed this morning. I wandered out to see the meditation garden and enjoyed this quiet corner of green. When I was in Japan I visited a moss garden that was nothing but green...countless shades of green and I found it so relaxing. I do love color of course but the tones and textures of this monochromatic corner of the garden struck me this morning.
So did the giant rain drops on the day lily, extra photograph. I love how the lily held onto the drops, savoring their refreshing wetness. It must feel such a relief after days of drought. Last night's rain, while most appreciated, is hardly a drop in the proverbial bucket but it is a start. The rain also brought in cooler temperatures so I will be out today dead heading the spent flowers and just generally cleaning up. It will feel good to be able to enjoy my garden without the brutal heat.
