A Bid for Freedom
The early constitutional bike run this morning was abandoned very quickly after my poor sore coccyx complained about the jolts on badly surfaced roads.
The cause of the injury, which happened on Friday, was my left foot slipping off a wet pedal on the bike, while standing upright to start off in the rain, and the nose of the saddle slamming into my lower back. There is now an art in sitting that I have had to acquire.
However, having relinquished the bike, I took the opportunity to roam on foot in the gloom and dampness of the early hour and found this clump of ragwort escaping through the railings from the mess of building materials behind.
