Wenlock and Mandeville
An Olympic special for today's blip, with my niece holding the two mascots for the camera.
Photo tip: the child's face was a bit dark in the original, so I applied a makeshift dodging tool.
Add a new layer and draw a white shape with the paintbrush, roughly covering the area you want to lighten.
Apply a gaussian blur at quite a high values to this layer, to soften the margins.
You will then need to experiment with the opacity and blend mode for this layer to get the effect right. In this instance I used opacity about 7% of the max value, and luckily there was a Colour Dodge mode. Of course YMMV.
