Big American Adventure - Day One

For years we've talked about wanting to visit New York but 40th birthdays, our Silver Wedding and even a 50th birthday have come and gone without us managing it. However last year my son won some Virgin gift cards when he referred a friend to join the gym. (So that is actually a worthwhile thing to do!) He decided we should put them towards finally planning the 'Henderson family American Adventure'.

So here we are in New York City. Walking around to find our bearings we found the Empire State Building just around the corner from our hotel and then headed to Times Square. I think we did well for the first day given my body really knew it was the wee small hours when we finally got to bed!
