going for a laugh!

off tonight to the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, a breather from the olympics! We bought Iain tickets to 4 shows for his birthday in June - stand up comedy is one of the few things he can enjoy almost as well as anyone else. All three of us going tonight, to two evening shows - David O'Doherty, whom we saw last year and enjoyed, and Reginald D Hunter. Then I will take Iain on 22 August to two afternoon shows, Paul Merton's Impro Chums and Nicholas Parsons' Happy Hour, which he wanted to see last year but we couldn't get tickets.

We'll leave home around 4.30 and go to the Grassmarket for 'pre-theatre' dinner - there's a few good places around there.
