Sliced

I've always marvelled at my Mum's skills in the runner bean preparation department and, despite years of trying, have never managed to emulate them. I was bemoaning my lack of slicing prowess last week and then today, after I got back from taking my Dad to a hospital appointment, Mum gave me some runner beans - and a BEAN SLICER! Well, what a wonderful little implement. So now I too can have perfectly sliced beans, albeit without the therapeutic advantages (so my Mum tells me) of using a knife.
