Pezenas Cemetery

I spent a very happy couple of hours in the local cemetery looking at the tombs, shadows, rust etc;  this particular shot shows far focus with the closer reflection of part of the cemetery in a marble tomb.

Tales of tragedy here with youngsters remembered as well as a large smattering of the very old.  The tradition here seems to be family tombs rather than individual graves so it's possible to spend a long time in one spot working out the family history - memorials are often accompanied by photos which makes it all real people and not just a name and dates. It's really hot today so it was a case of keeping to the shade as much as possible.

Currently by the pool and setting off later to the choir meal in a small town a few miles away - not yet worked out who will be driving!
