Hurrah...Our Building Work Begins!

This is really a record shot and probably won't be of interest to anyone else, but as it's a journal I wanted to include it.  After months of planning, visits by an Architect and the local council, we finally have planning permission to convert our garage into a double bedroom and en-suite and join it up to the rest of the house.
So, Stewart, our builder arrived this morning with Adrian to help, followed by two electricians, (Darren and Richard) to go through the work with us, then Nigel the plumber followed.  The path down the other side of the house has been started (so we can wheel our bins down that side instead), loads of sand, gravel and cement has arrived, along with a skip, and a cement mixer.  The plastic rain roof between the house and garage has now been removed .  We've made lots of cups of coffee, run out of biscuits already and have been handing out glasses of water with ice, on one of the hottest days of the year.
So, a good start to a 10 week (approximate) job.
We now have all the excitement of choosing our bathroom suite, a new bed, wardrobes, curtains, wallpaper, paint etc. That's the best bit!
