Skipper
I haven't seen a lot of variety in the insects in the back yard of late and was actually getting a little tired of shooting sweat bees and hoverflies with an occasional flesh fly thrown in. And I don't get shots of them easily because they move a lot, and are very small
Today when I was pressed for time, I was quite relieved to see this little Skipper land on the Hibiscus leaf with very little in the background. It stayed quite still and I was able to get off a few shots, in focus, in a very short period of time and get on with other things. This was taken with the 90 mm macro lens +16 mm extension tube. Have a look in large and you can see the eye facets, which always amazes me.
