Wells

After packing up, we headed to Wells next the sea (why isn't it next TO the sea?!). Very very busy there but luckily a huge beach so found some space.

Mike went on a rescue mission for a kid that had been caught in the rip tide. It looked like she was in trouble. By the time he'd charged into the water fully clothed she'd stopped trying to swim against it. It was a pretty selfless thing to do. Her parents were in the water but not watching her and they didn't even say thank you. Some people!!

It was very hot when we arrived and then the sun just disappeared and it got very cold. We left the beach about 4.30 and it took well over half hour to reach the van so we decided to get out of Wells and find a fish and chip shop. Normally fish and chips is fast food but we went to a place called Eric's nr hunstanton, which was properly pretentious and took over half an hour to throw a couple of portions of fish and chips into a box. Nick has coined the phrase 'it's been farrow and ball'd' about parts of Norfolk. This place had definitely been farrow and ball'd. Their slow service and our sleepy kids meant we didn't properly get going out way home till 6.45pm so arrived home just before 10pm.

The kids were filthy after a day on the beach so we had to wake them up to give them a bath. They were not impressed!!

Very very late to bed after unpacking and writing all my blips!!
