Cardiff (2)

Our second day in Cardiff following the football yesterday. We had a late morning watching the Women's Marathon in a very rainy London.

The only crisis of the weekend was the fact that my camera battery died on me yesterday during the Carnival parade, and the fully charged spare that I always carry with me, wasn't! So all subsequent photos had to be on my phone camera as that was the only charger I hadn't brought with me doh!

We finally decided to drag ourselves out for coffee and a bite to eat. Cardiff bay is the regenerated part of Cardiff that used to be the old docks and port; the place is now a thriving, lively place full of cafes and restaurants and also home to the Welsh Assembly (their Parliament) and the Wales Millennium Centre housing theatres, bars and general arts.

We walked over to the Norwegian church to eat but found it full so it was back to the Millennium Centre for soup and coffee.

I will be definitely returning with Ann one day soon to show her the area, it has a real vibe!

So it was back home to Stratford, this time in much calmer weather conditions, the M4 was flooded on the way down yesterday.

Blips for the last two days are delayed due to excitement on the Olympic Tennis front with Murray winning the Singles and then playing in the Mixed Doubles after (both recorded for me to watch this evening).

Late Olympic News: Murray/Robson won the Silver Medal in the mixed doubles after a great game - well done! And Usain Bolt won the Gold in the 100 metres, as expected, amazing.
