Roots

I expected today's blip, on a walk from Healey Dell on to Rooley Moor, high above Rochdale, would feature the Cotton Famine Road, built in 1862/3 when supplies were restricted during the American Civil War. Or possibly the ruins at Rooley Moor Brow, where there was a remote pub until the 1930s.

Instead, I found a few more detailed shots of greater interest: a mossy roof and some framed dereliction.

But my choice was this shot of sunlight falling on the roots of a tree as I climbed out of the Dell.

I am looking forward to tomorrow - my trip to the Olympics, to see some of the Men's Triathlon and experience the atmosphere on London 2012 at first hand.
