Rannerdale, Haystacks and Great Gable
After yesterdays blip at Mike's theatre performance, back to landscapes. Today dawned extremely wet, and as we were setting out at 9.40, it was still pouring. Considered a number of locations, but thought we'd risk the far end of Newlands valley. On arriving there, the lighting was interesting, so we unloaded the kit and gave it a go. Within 10 minutes, it was pouring again.
A quick pack away and we re-located to Lanthwaite woods at the North end of Crummock; a couple of good hours in the wood was followed by a successful lake-edge session, and we ended the day with a view down the length of Crummock, looking all the way to Haystacks and Great Gable behind with clouds drifting around the peaks. I shot this one on a long lens in order to create compression between the three fells, which are seperated by quite a few miles.
I hope it showed a long lens has a good place in landscape photography.
