Kylemore Abbey

Today has been a "I've been everywhere man" day.  I'm much to tired to fill in the details but......
We left Lisdoonarva, stopping off at the Burren Information Centre where we watched a video and viewed a display then set off to travel this area.  The contrasts from small fields surrounded by rock walls to vast scrubby and rocky landscapes was incredible.
Then hit Galway and stent a couple of hours there mooching around the pedestrian streets (such a good idea), had some lunch.  We had some problems getting out of Galway, finally managed it.  We asked Dora and really I'm sure she is blonde!!!
The landscape from then on was not unlike parts of the South Island, (McKenzie Country/Lindus/Middlemarch) - we stumbled into the Coonawarna National Park, so picturesque.....this abbey is in this area - isn't it so jaw dropping beautiful.  We hope to go back tomorrow and walk the gardens and see inside - there was a function on and the gates were closed, how dare they!!!

We are staying at Clifden, a pretty wee town.

Many many thanks for so many comments, stars and hearts since we have been travelling - they are appreciated and I apologise for not responding.  As you can appreciate, there isn't any time - to much to see, so little time.

Rainie
