Hewenden
Tony has left for Dalby Forest where he is controlling two days of the White Rose Orienteering Weekend. For non-orienteers, controlling means he checks the planner's courses and that the controls are put out in the correct places. I ummed and aahed about going too but North Yorkshire forests are notoriously tough going and, wimp that I am, the weather forecast is not so good.
I've cycled my circuit this morning. It took longer than usual because there were folks to stop and talk to, strangers and neighbours alike. I had a good chat with a workman who was reading the information about the viaduct on his break. It turned out that he had been a Tourmaker for the Grand Depart so we reminisced about that excellent weekend before I continued down to the viaduct and met up with neighbours Molly and Jeff who were walking their dogs and enjoying the sunshine.
I then stopped to take this, my favourite view of the viaduct, and I might just use it for my weather picture today. Now it is what to do with the rest of the day and the garden beckons.
Good news: I've just had an e-mail from one of the last students I worked with before I retired at Christmas to tell me that she achieved fantastic results in her A-Levels, well done P!
