Time to say Goodbye
Woke mega early; without the need for an alarm clock even. Wow it was warm last night again. I'll be glad to get home to air-conditioning!
So... last bits done, all very successfully and we were able to leave earlier than planned... a very smooth journey to drop the hire car off, and then to the airport. I had two very heavy bags, and was so thrilled that a member of staff looked after all the luggage!
G was able to meet up with one of her brothers in the terminal! He was going to Houston and G in the opposite direction. He bought us a drink! Think it's the first time I've sat in a bar at the airport. I enjoyed watching the planes at the Gate. Always interesting stuff going on and I was looking intently at cargo being taken off an aircraft. A real skill handling the machinery.
The flight home was brilliant. We had a refurbished 747-400... brand new TV screens that worked really well. I decided to listen to music rather than watch movies... mainly because they had an Anita Baker album (amongst other favourites).
And then we landed in Dubai... I cannot list how chaotic this place is. Right from getting off the aircraft to getting into a taxi... you can't ignore some things if you tried. It was great to get home though, and Nara (the cleaner) true to his word... had been in earlier and left the a/c's on in the bedrooms so they were *cool*. :)
Too late and tired to blip...
