City life!
I had to go into Plymouth today for my cars MOT, so met up with my wide pregnant friend ( daughter now over a year old!). We had a long leisurely breakfast and talked films, specifically top 5 most scary ones! Decided they fell into different types from The Birds, to The Omen, Hellraiser, Se7en, and The Cook, The Thief, The Wife and her Lover! We then went to sample the delights of the shopping centre! We went into Tiger and I found some plastic bits to bling up the spokes on Friends wheelchair! Plus a few other silly but functional bits like cloud shaped hangers to hook over doors! Then we went for coffee and bumped into some old work colleagues. None of them any happier and all planning their escape and hoping OFSTED fails them and the Head finally gets her comeuppance!
On the way to the allotment I found a Beagle walking along the road, it sat down and waited for me wagging it's tail as I walked towards it and then went and stood by a front gate. So I opened it and walked to the front door to see if it lived there - well it was boarding there! I never knew it had a kennel as no signs, but it was a beagle boarding kennel! The man who opened the door could hardly have been less thankful- just said "I suppose it's one of ours" and shut the door in my face to answer the phone! I can see why the beagle made a break for freedom!
I suddenly realised whilst in Plymouth that I had not thought of taking any photographs as too busy chatting, so this is the car park and outside of the shopping centre with the ruined Charles church left as a memorial to the civilians of the Second World War. Plymouth was bombed heavily because of the major naval base at Devonport. Just after it opened, the shopping centre won the inaugural Carbuncle Cup "for crimes against architecture", as the worst new building in the UK! I like the old lamp posts in the photo though!
