Close the camps

Attended a "Close the Camps" (Nauru and Manus Islands where Australia keeps asylum seekers and refugees) rally in Melbourne.  There is evidence of wide spread physical, mental and sexual abuse against the refugees in both camps, even against children.  

People such as teachers and doctors who have worked at the detention centres could be sentenced for up to two years in gaol for speaking out about what they have seen and heard.  (Though I doubt the government would follow through with that threat). One such teacher spoke at the rally today and what she had to say was heartbreaking. 

Surely we are better than this?   Extra of some of the police at the rally. Both look better in large. Many thanks for my stars and comments over the last few days.
