Hot Stuff!

I went to the Roman Villa at Chedworth this afternoon.

The Blip is a fine example of an underfloor heating system used by the Romans.  Fires were lit at the edge of the building and convection drew the warm air around the channels under the flooring, allowing the wealthy Romans to sit and admire their mosaics in comfort.

Shortly after this was taken the thunder and lightning started and the heavens opened for what was the most tremendous storm I have seen in a long while!
