Peebles

From the Eddleston to Lyne road. On the 'Summer' Spokes Ride to the Borders. It starts out OK, but as lunchtime approaches, the clouds roll in. there is a little light rain as we head to Eddleston, and the temperature drops.

As we headed through Eddleston, the dampness went off, and the temperature began to rise again. We climbed up and over the Meldons to a have a picnic.

As soon as the sandwiches unwrapped, dampness fell, on and off, from the sky. Not long enough for we determined cyclists to give up the picnic, but enough for as soon as we had finished our feed, we headed off in search of coffee and cake.

This was duly found at Whitmuir Orgainic Farm.

From there it was a ride up Macbiehill, along the Moor road to Penicuik. As we headed north, the clouds cleared, and the sun came out.

Just under 92.4km. A nice bike ride, but I really want some summer weather for my week off.
