Peacock

An odd sort of day, not as much sun as they said, just this fleeting kind of rain once or twice that was so fine and passed over so quickly the ground hardly got wet, just slightly sweaty (no, I'm not going to say that word!).  Which means that tonight I'm going to have to water all my pots and the new plants in the garden.  Dang!  I thought I'd get away without.

Anyway, a short walk today, just down the lane and along the footpath by the stream.  I was very pleased though to see this peacock butterfly, one of only three I've seen this summer.  As they often like to, it was resting on the path, rather optimistically trying to warm its wings.
