Puzzling

This young Steller's Jay apparently hadn't seen a bird feeder like ours before, but was quick to figure out how to extract just the most desirable seeds!

Today has felt like autumn -- but it's still August! We had cool temperatures, dark skies, and rain this afternoon, but the rain was needed, so no grumbling from me. I was inside, doing a lot of cooking for a change, and didn't mind having the oven on! 

And I've made a decision about what new lens to buy... the extra photo will give you a hint about one of the deciding factors. I'll place the order soon.
