Aylsham Show, Blickling, Norfolk

Today, Jon, Henry and I have had a lovely day at the Aylsham Show. Every August Bank holiday for the past 10 or so years has been spent at the Fenland Fair in Quy, so this made a pleasant change - especially as we could attend as proper visitors, not half in charge of a stall.

We all particularly enjoyed watching the sheep and cattle judging. I took this photo just before the little boy was awarded 2nd. He didn't seem very happy though! It was serious stuff. Many classes, and different breeds. I was pleasantly surprised at how many young women there were.

We had scorching weather, and went equipped with lunch and deck chairs. I also had my book! We settled by the Aylsham band, and listened to them while watching an aerobatic display by two WW2 aircraft (spitfires possibly?) The band were really good. I spotted one of my work colleagues playing in the band, but I don't think she spotted me! I will tell her tomorrow how much we enjoyed them.

After a proper relaxing afternoon, we went home. A bit too much sun again today, so my head is aching a bit. I cooked dinner for 3 as Mollie is going in to Norwich with friends. I dont suppose I will go to bed until she gets in. It may be a long evening...
