Blue river

After a month of almost constant rain, we finally had two days of sunshine. We drove to an area called Cooper Landing, which is about 45 miles away, just to admire the scenery and check out a campground. The highway basically follows the route of the Kenai River, and on a sunny day the turquoise color of the river is quite pronounced. The color is caused by glacier flour (silt).
As soon as the last client is gone from our rental cabin we are going camping at a place next to Kenai Lake, which is also often this lovely turquoise color because of being fed by glacier water.
