Curious conifer MM136

This little conifer has been in our front garden for a number of years, and neither of us can clearly remember where it originated. We suspect it might have  been in a planted container we received as a gift way back and was moved on when the other plants died. M reliably informs me it is of the Chamaecyparis family but variety unknown, so who am I to argue? The branches have taken on shapes quite unlike any other conifer.
