Lake Vishtynets

Lake Vishtynets - unique lake of glacial origin, age is older than the Baltic Sea and is the largest in the Kaliningrad region.

Vishtynets - a lake with crystal clear water. In some places the depth Vishtyntsa reaches 52 meters, although the bank rather flat - as in the Curonian Lagoon, where you can go and be tens of meters of waist-deep in water. The water is very cold, but the lake attracts swimmers in summer.

Vishtynets often referred to as the European Baikal, in fact, they are similar in origin (glacial), and by the fact that feed many rivers, but follows only one of them: from the lake - the Angara from Vishtyntsa - Pissa (inflow Wegorapa).

Since 1975, the lake is a natural monument, part of the State Nature Reserve
