My first woodpecker
We had a bit of a late start this morning but the sun was shining so we decided on a walk round Fairburn Ings, a local RSPB reserve.
Got lens envy again at the bird hide but I did see my first ever woodpecker. Shame it wasn't on a tree but still pleased. The photos weren't great, the bird feeder was swinging about. We had a good walk, saw lots of dragon flies which Lottie was stalking trying to get a photo. I managed a couple but couldn't get close enough with my lens for anything decent (one in extras).
Had a lovely day really - an hour reading in the garden and then finally, the first barbecue of the year! And I've still got two days off work to look forward to :-)
Apart from my holiday photos I think I am finally up to date again. I will get them uploaded eventually and I am going to try and catch up with you all this week
