Cotton Mill

Working in an old cotton mill today.

There will be no cotton produced here today though. This mill was the last working textile mill in the village, so to speak, closing in 1979 and is now a Grade II listed building.

Just down the road from here was one of the earliest purpose built factories in Lancashire, run by Richard Arkwright.

The mill I'm in today was built in 1906 and seems set to be here for a long time to come.
