Next door
The noise and disruption from the building site next to where I work has ramped up this week. Some days it's hard to concentrate, while other days are eaiser. There is a constant level of noise and to some degree we do adapt.
Today was trying, particularly as I had a couple of online meetings from my desk. Sometimes I could hardly hear what with a band saw in the background and a couple of contractor conversations (the foreman has a desk).
At one point I stepped outside and wandered next door. The observant amongst you will recognise the wreck of a building next door. Standing in the weeds with cars parked and odd temporary boundary fences is normal post-quake in Christchurch. Speaking of which, this Sunday it will be 6 years since the first big 7.3 earthquake. I shudder when I look at Italy, how well we understand their pain and fears.
Our neighbour is feeding Benedict again. She denied it yesterday but I was home early today and discovered a huge container of biscuits on her open door step. At least I have the support of my vet. The next step is she will pay my neighbour a visit. It's so sad and frustrating, he's done really well without cheap crap in his system - until last night :-(
On the upside, a nice run tonight :-)
