Scion

And so my self-imposed challenge to blip an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman over the 3 days of the Folk Festival at the Albert Dock concludes with the Englishman.

It's Blair Dunlop.

Blair's dad is Ashley Hutchings, undoubtedly one of the most important figures in British folk-rock. He was the founder member of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band - and he's done much else besides. Not only did Blair take over the family business - literally, in respect of his leadership of The Albion Band between 2011 and 2014 - but, more recently, he's been carving out an increasingly successful solo career. He doesn't half look like his dad too as the photo on Ashley's home page (taken circa 1969) shows... http://ashleyhutchings.com/index.html

Blair's mum, Judy Dunlop, is also an erstwhile member of the Albion Band and was in the crowd cheering Blair on today. I also spotted the famed Scouse comedian John Bishop enjoying the show. Him and me, both!

Here's Blair, singing a love song to a car... www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMwP4Koq2hE
