Across the river
Whitby backblip 8
Sadly, this was our last day in Whitby, and it was a busy one! It started with our traditional last-morning breakfast at Java - a meal to last us through the day! MrM opted for the half full-breakfast (having discovered the enormity of the full breakfast last year), and I chose the smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Delicious, but too much for someone who's used to a modest meal in the morning!
The Craft Fair closed at 2.00pm, after which we packed away the stall and instruments and said goodbye to some of the other traders, many of whom we won't see until next summer. Then back to the caravan for some more packing away, and a walk for Louie along the old 'cinder track' towards Ruswarp. Then MrM and I walked in to Whitby the long way round, with lovely views of St Mary's Church and the Abbey across the river. And as we stood on the road bridge, a train in the station was steaming up (extra). A quick meal before heading back to the caravan and setting off for home. It was late - almost midnight - when we walked in through the door, but worth it to miss the bank holiday traffic.
